Two Australian citizens, students of Theological school , attacked on CetinjePublic Announcement of Metropolitan of Montenegro and Coastal Lands, CetinjeYesterday, on the 22nd of November, 1998, between 6.30 and 7 p.m., two students of Theological school, both Australian citizens, Aleksandar Mracic and Nikola Stefanov were treacherously attacked on the road between boarding school and dining-room of Theological school St Peter of Cetinje, in Cetinje. During the attack, Aleksandar Mracic was hurt and sustained injuries which can be seen on his face. By foggy night, this attack was committed by a group of five to six unidentified young men who swore "Serbian mother and Archbishop Amfilohije" while attacking. This is one more attack on the students of Theological school motivated by hatred which is spread among young people by several supporters of political and anti-cultural organization which calls itself "The Montenegrin Orthodox Church" and which was lately defined as para-church and anti-civilizing by His Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew himself. By beating students and calls for lynch they are just confirmed as it is said. With this attack and with justified reaction of the Australian state, of which Mracic and Stefanov are the citizens, vandalism and anti-culture threaten to smear the honor of Montenegro in the world. Since police actions either failed to take place or brought no results in such cases so far, there is completely justified fear in Metropolitan and Theological school that somebody - who protects hooligans - deliberately destroys positive image and honour of Montenegro in the world in which, above all, children’s rights are most protected.
